About this app

Voice Access helps anyone who has difficulty manipulating a touch screen (e.g. due to paralysis, tremor, or temporary injury) use their Android device by voice.

Voice Access provides many voice commands for:
- Basic navigation (e.g. "go back", "go home", "open Gmail")
- Controlling the current screen (e.g. "tap next", "scroll down")
- Text editing and dictation (e.g. "type hello", "replace coffee with tea")

You can also say "Help" any time to see a short list of commands.

Voice Access includes a tutorial which introduces the most common voice commands (starting Voice Access, tapping, scrolling, basic text editing, and getting help).

You can use the Google Assistant to start Voice Access by saying "Hey Google, Voice Access". To do this, you’ll need to enable "Hey Google" detection. You can also tap either the Voice Access notification or a blue Voice Access button and start talking.

To pause Voice Access temporarily, just say "stop listening". To disable Voice Access completely, go to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Access and turn off the switch.

For additional support, see Voice Access help.

This app uses the AccessibilityService API to help users with motor impairments. It uses the API to collect information about the controls on the screen and activate them based on the user’s spoken instructions.

If oral dictation is a part of this voice access feature, it is one of the hardest features to use. Now it has begun putting periods when my voice dictation hesitates it starts a new sentence. And when I try to edit what I have already written and find that your inserting words I did not use, it is very very difficult to do that because you're after I make the correction it immediately moves the cursor to the next location. If you haven't done any human factors testing on yes, you should.

Convenient to use but needs a voice specific filter somewhat like in Google Assistant. It keeps picking up other voices in the media being played then it says "Sorry, I didn't understand stand that" and you're like "well, it's bc I didn't say that!" smh. Then you either have to physically stop the media from playing (which defeats the purpose of having voice access) or wait until there's a space in sound from the media so you can speak the command you want. Please improve this feature.

It's like Alexa right now it doesn't do anything. Every time I say do this. I am told that Voice Access doesn't do Navigations yet. What good is it. If it can't do what it's supposed to do for me. Just like Alexa Alexa will repeatedly say she can't do what I ask / command yet. Two presently dumb APPs. How long before you fix those issues? It appears the APP will be a real Hamburger 🍔 Helper, but you rolled it out before you added needed controls. (THANKS FOR LISTENING). END-OF-LINE!!!!!
